Ozi asked:

Hi,is this course equivalent to the NVQ level 3 diploma in health and social care?

Answer:

What is an NVQ? A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) was a popular form of work-based qualification under the NQF system, which was replaced by the QCF in 2010. The QCF was replaced by the RQF in 2015. So essentially, it is the same. A Level 3 diploma is required to progress to a University degree course. Hence you will need to study the ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care which is an RQF qualification. I hope this answers your query.

I have taken CPD courses and obtain 4 certificates in care ,I would like to know if I can complete this course within 8 weeks.

Answer:

Hello Ademola The CPD courses are training which you attend to gain skills or update them. They don’t carry any academic credits. The minimum duration of the course is 12 weeks and most awarding bodies don’t allow certification on academic courses earlier than this time as the course require fulfilment of guided learning hours. As a mature learner this time frame can be shortened due to experience and knowledge gained via training’s and CPD course but not earlier than 12 weeks.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
